Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in search of the traitor.
